Johannesburg Rooftop Padel League Opens, Whale Sport Tent Court Becomes New Landmark

On January 17, 2026, South Africa‘s first rooftop padel league officially opened at NSPadel in Sandton, Johannesburg. Matches are played on Whale Sport’s Panorama Padel Court with Tent, whose canopy shading system effectively blocks the intense UV radiation of the African summer. The league features 8 club teams competing every Wednesday evening. Whale Sport‘s South African distributor noted that the panoramic tent court is extremely popular in urban rooftop spaces, with more than 10 additional courts expected in Cape Town and Durban by the end of 2026.
