Whale Sport supplied a standard Panorama Padel Court to the renowned VTPA in the Algarve region of southern Portugal. The academy, one of Europe‘s largest resort complexes, featuring 18 tennis courts and 6 padel courts. It serves as a training base for Portuguese professional players and regularly hosts ITF and FIP tour events. Whale Sport’s panoramic court is used for the academy‘s highperformance training programmes and regionallevel championships.

Instead of a full glass enclosure, this Panorama Padel Court adopts a hybrid viewing solution: the two long sides use 10mm tempered glass, while the two baselines retain highdensity reinforced mesh. This design provides sufficient visual openness during baseline rallies while reducing crosswind interference from sea breezes. Elastic sealing strips at the glassmesh junctions eliminate the risk of balls getting stuck.

This court also integrates Whale Sport‘s optional smart linecall assistance system:

• Pressuresensitive strips embedded along baselines and sidelines, combined with sideline cameras, provide an initial “HawkEye” judgement with an accuracy of ±3cm.
• Match data and heat maps can be recorded directly via a mobile app.
• The system is prewired for future integration with the official FIP electronic linecalling system.

Portugal’s padel playing population doubled between 2024 and 2026. The Algarve has become a hotspot for sports tourism, with many Nordic clubs traveling south for winter training. Whale Sport‘s panoramic court at VTPA has quickly become the benchmark competitiongrade court in the region.
